LIFE ROCKS 5KM!
Every now and then we need a little kick in the pants to get out the door and the LIFE ROCKS 5km presented by Rock on Clay is here to get you moving! What better way to set your fitness goals for the upcoming run season than by joining together with friends for a downtown fun run after dark? The 5km course was designed after the City of Calgary finished pathway construction and facilities on the downtown island.
Friday April 26th 2019
We’ll get started at 7:00 pm. You’ll have plenty of time to finish up, grab your finish swag and then grab a drink with friends while rocking your best Lycra.
Located close to downtown and popular destination spots like the Simmons Building, the LIFE ROCKS 5km takes place on Calgary’s St. Patrick’s Island. Our course takes you on some of the newest pathways that are just begging to be raced on. With parking on-site, why not join us for a night run before heading out on the town with your closest friends?
START LINE LOCATION:
On St. Patrick’s Island! Yes!
We’ll keep it simple. 25 bucks gets you a spot on the start line before March 1st. After that you will have to skip a Starbucks and save another fiver’ so we can keep the race organized and running smoothly. If you are the spontaneous type, you can also register on race day for $35.
RACE PACKAGE PICK UP
If you are the type of person that likes to lay out your race bib number on your Instagram post the day before getting after it, you can join us at TCR SPORT LAB for package pick up Thursday between 4-7:30 pm. Otherwise show up at the start line prior to 6:30 pm and we’ll get you your number!
Results will be available after the race online at www.rockonclay.com
If there is one reason to get out and race with us, it’s because we have a pretty unique finisher medal that you can hang on your neck with pride! If you are quicker and like to race for swag, good news…this is a ROCKIN’ event! Podium finishers in the top 5 men and women overall will get a sweet swag bag from Rock On Clay as well as a trophy that seriously rocks!
AID STATIONS, SNACKS, ETC.
There is a water aid station on course that you hit twice. There will also be some rocking music to motivate you to the finish line! It can get a little nippy after dark, so we will have warm drinks waiting for you at the finish line along with a light snack.
It’s fun, and fast! It’s also an accurately measured 5 km. Check out the map below.
